9/11 Remembrance

"On September the 11th, enemies of freedom committed an act of war against our country...Americans have known the casualties of war, but not at the center of a great city on a peaceful morning." - George W. Bush to Congress and the Nation, September 20, 2001
Today we remember those who lost their lives during the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Pennsylvania. We remember those who were injured. We remember the families who were impacted.

We also recognize the sacrifice and service of those service members who responded to the call of duty to defend our freedom. Within days of the attacks, North Carolina-based military forces were deployed to Afghanistan and the Middle East.
