Cherry Point is a Marine Corps Air Station and Navel Air Depot to provide quality facilities, ranges, aviation support, and services to promote the readiness, sustainment, and quality of life for the operating forces, supported commands, and other activities. There are more than 7,200 active active-duty military members and 3,700 civilian contract employees.
