STUDY SHOWS NORTH CAROLINA AS THE TOP LEADER IN MILITARY TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH
The Defense Alliance of North Carolina and RTI International's study found potential for NC research and advances to be funded by Department of Defense (DOD) contracts.
Multiple fields could be the focus of future DOD contracts, like autonomous systems. In August 2022, Marines and Navy Sailors were introduced to new technology at the Technology Operational Experimental Exercise 22 at Camp Lejeune. The image below shows an Autonomous Casualty Evacuation system that would allow casualties to be transported freely.
