Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Sailors Sharpen Battlefield Medicine Skills

Hospital Corpsman Third Class Nathan Zachreaus makes an incision on a mannequin as part of establishing an airway via cricothyroidotomy during a training event held August 4 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Zachreaus and other sailors assigned to Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point conducted the practical exercise as students in Tactical Combat Casualty Care, a course designed to sharpen their battlefield medicine skills.

After ending a military career, medics and other medical-oriented service members can easily transfer into a new role within the civilian sector using the skills gained in their military training.
