On this date in 2019, the U.S. Space Force was created through the signing of the National Defense Authorization Act. It marked the first new military branch in 73 years. The U.S. Space Force Guardians aim to "protect and defend American interests and to ensure our forces, our allies, and the world never experience a day without space."
U.S. Space Force installations are located in California, Colorado, and Florida.
