The U.S. Army partnered with the UNC Medical Center to provide military surgeons on staff at the Level 1 Trauma Center.
After returning from deployments, military surgeons are often assigned to military treatment facilities where trauma is low. Having the opportunity to serve at a Level 1 Trauma Center allows surgeons to have continual training. The UNC Medical Center receives experienced surgical staff to assist in serving the community.
