The North Carolina Department of Military and Veteran Affairs presented World War II Veteran Cosmas D. Eaglin, Sr, with a certificate of appreciation and the Department’s challenge coin. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, and Mr. Eaglin is one of the original Monford Pointe Marines. He was one of the first 300 black recruits after the Fair Employment Practices Commission was established in 1941.
Mr. Eaglin also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
