Marking the 76th Year of the U.S. Air Force

The U.S. Air Force celebrates its 76th anniversary today! ​
Today marks the transition of air activities from the Army to the Air Force. W. Stuart Symington served as the first Secretary of the Air Force. ​
Seymour Johnson AFB was activated June 1942-May 1946. Since its reactivation in 1956, it has served as a Tactical Air Command base.
