Summit Provides Best Practices For Military Transition

The North Carolina Defense Summit (NCDS) included panels focused on a variety of topics. The Military Best Practices panel provided examples of what the Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base (SJAFB) Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) offers. Examples of resources provided include a series of workshops aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for military spouses and transitioning service members, with a focus on federal resume workshops. This is complemented by Wayne Community College Business Center's emphasis on industry-specific resume and interview training. The M&FRC hosts quarterly career fairs, in collaboration with NCWorks, showcasing job opportunities from local to national businesses. As part of its ongoing commitment, SJAFB will also be partnering with NC4ME and Hire G.I. to further expand employment opportunities, all in an effort to support our servicemembers and their families in securing meaningful employment.
