Local civilian and military first responder agencies in Wilmington recently collaborated with Marines from Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River and Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX 1) for emergency response training related to military aircraft mishaps. The exercise, made possible through the support of local civilian partners, aimed to prepare first responders for responding to military aircraft incidents, as they are often the first on the scene outside of military installations.
