NC Military: Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City

Established in 1940 on the old Holowell Plantation, Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City has played a pivotal role in maritime safety and security.​
From its humble beginnings to its expansion into a comprehensive training and rescue facility, Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City has been at the forefront of search and rescue operations for over 80 years.​

With a fleet of versatile aircraft and highly trained personnel, the station has conducted over 20,000 missions, rescuing and assisting over 10,000 people in distress.​
Today, Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City remains a vital hub for Coast Guard aviation, supporting missions ranging from search and rescue to maritime security and counter-terrorism operations.
