Since 1995, the Military World Summer Games have been held every four years, one year prior to the Olympic Games. The event is organized by the International Military Sports Council and brings together military athletes from over 100 nations to compete in a spirit of friendship and sportsmanship.
Charlotte, NC is in the running to host the 2027 Military World Summer Games, if the United States is named the host country. The opportunity to serve as the host city could bring $3 billion in revenue to the state.
