The Department of Defense announced two new solar energy projects that will supply renewable power to five military installations in North Carolina and South Carolina. The projects support the DoD's efforts to enhance energy resilience and achieve renewable energy goals.
The solar farms will be built, owned, operated, and maintained by subsidiaries of Duke Energy, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, and Dominion Energy. The solar farms are expected to be operational by late 2025.
