Honoring The Valor of Korean War Veterans Armistice Day

On July 27th, we observe Korean War Veterans Armistice Day to honor the brave Americans who fought to defend freedom and democracy in the Korean War from 1950-1953.

After years of brutal combat, an armistice was signed on July 27, 1953, by the United States, China, and North Korea, ending the fighting. Though the war is sometimes called "The Forgotten War", the U.S. saw 1.8 million Americans serve in the Korean War with over 36,000 service members killed in action.

Their courage and perseverance helped forge an enduring alliance with South Korea, now a thriving democracy and economic powerhouse. On this day, we honor our Korean War veterans and renew our commitment to the democratic values they fought so valiantly to defend.
