VA-DoD Holds Joint Planning Summit in Durham, Forges Path for Expanded Healthcare Access

In a groundbreaking move, leaders from the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) convened for the first-ever VA-DoD Joint Planning Summit in Durham, North Carolina. The summit aimed to identify mutually beneficial resource-sharing opportunities to improve healthcare access for both Veterans and DoD beneficiaries in North Carolina and Virginia.

While successful partnerships already exist at several locations nationwide, the in-person summit provided a unique platform for members from both departments to connect, fostering conversations and collaborations that might have been missed through virtual interactions alone.
