Honoring Heroes' Sacrifice This Purple Heart Day

On this Purple Heart Day, we honor the brave men and women wounded or killed while serving our nation. The Purple Heart, one of America's oldest military decorations, traces its origins to 1782 when George Washington created the Badge of Military Merit. Revived in 1932, it has since been awarded to an estimated 1.8 million service members who have made tremendous sacrifices.

Today, we pause to remember these heroes and their families, recognizing their courage and unwavering commitment to our country.
