When traditional supply chain methods fail to provide essential aircraft parts, Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) steps in with its organic manufacturing capabilities. This process ensures that mission-ready aircraft are continuously returned to the Fleet, even when faced with supply constraints. Over the past three years, this in-house manufacturing has produced approximately $19 million in parts, significantly contributing to naval aviation readiness.
Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, located in North Carolina, has a rich history. Its name is derived from Cherry Point Landing, a small settlement that emerged in the early 19th century near a promontory called Cherry Point. The area got its name when a post office was established in 1890.In 1941, Congress authorized the establishment of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, allocating funds for its construction on an 8,000-acre tract of land that included swamps, farms, and timberland.
