Travis Bell, an 84-year-old barber at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, is set to be inducted into the National Barber Museum's Hall of Fame after 57 years of service to the XVIII Airborne Corps. Bell has cut the hair of countless soldiers, from privates to four-star generals, including Medal of Honor recipients and D-Day paratroopers. His small shop inside the Corps' headquarters has become a fixture of the Airborne community, with walls adorned by photos of famous military leaders he's served. 
The Department of Defense announced two new solar energy projects that will supply renewable power to five military installations in North Carolina and South Carolina. The projects support the DoD's efforts to enhance energy resilience and achieve renewable energy goals.The solar farms will be built, owned, operated, and maintained by subsidiaries of Duke Energy, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, and Dominion Energy. The solar farms are expected to be operational by late 2025.

The Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) at Fort Liberty held a poignant Remembrance Ceremony on May 22 in their Tranquility Garden, paying tribute to three courageous Soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice over the past year - Staff Sgt. Jesse Gill, Sgt. 1st Class Orrin Espana, and Maj. Jennie Armstrong.The ceremony was a touching reminder of the values these Soldiers embodied through their duty, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to freedom.
