“Honor Veterans by Hiring Veterans” acknowledges the attributes of military veterans and serves as an employer call to action. ​

Companies participating in the hiring events sponsored by NC4ME recognize the value of veterans and military spouses in the workplace. This population represents a pre-screened segment of our nation who possess unique “work-ready” attributes. ​
North Carolina boasts a top-notch thriving innovation ecosystem that offers the biggest research park in North America. The state is ranked number two of five tech hubs in the nation and is home to a large, diverse STEM-savvy workforce. Research and tech advances result in new equipment, like the quadcopter below, that the defense sector employs.​
The Airborne & Special Operations Museum's 2022 Field of Honor runs until November 13, 2022. Visit the museum and see the flags placed in honor of veterans across the country.​

The Goldsboro Rotary Club is hosting the 3rd Annual Field of Honor at Wayne Community College until November 17, 2022.​

The Carolina Field of Honor at Triad Park is open year-round in Kernersville.​
The Defense Technology Office (DEFTECH) aims to increase business for North Carolina companies by connecting them with the Department of Defense. This also increases federal spending in the state, boosting North Carolina's economy. ​

Fayetteville State University's Center for Defense & Homeland Security (CDHS) collaborates with local, state, and federal agencies – including the Army and Special Operations partnerships at Fort Bragg. The research done at CDHS impacts the STEM, cybersecurity, national security, and emergency management disciplines. These fields directly tie to missions completed by the military in North Carolina. U.S. Marines participated in training that included new tactics and training with unmanned aircraft systems, like the one shown below.​
NC COUNTIES GO GREEN FOR VETERANS DAY

NC residents and businesses are encouraged to shine a green light in support of our veterans during the week of November 7-13. Multiple NC counties are participating in this nationwide initiative.​

The Department of Defense named November as Warrior Care Month in 2008. It raises awareness for the needs and services that wounded service members require. These services are not limited to medical treatments but includes programs focused on transportation and childcare support, pay and personnel issues, and more.​

CHECK DEFENSE RECEIVES SECRETARY OF DEFENSE EMPLOYER SUPPORT FREEDOM AWARD​

In September 2022, Check Defense was awarded the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. National Guard and Reserve service members across the country can nominate their civilian employer for this honor. It is given to businesses that show outstanding support for the Guard and Reserve.​
