The Federal and Defense Textile (FEDTEX) Summit connects the US Department of Defense (DoD) and federal agency clothing and individual equipment buyers with US textile manufacturers, textile supply chain suppliers, cut and sew contractors, research and development (R&D) facilities, testing labs and academic resources. All prime textile manufacturers and textile supply chain manufacturers currently produce DOD, medical, PPE, and related soldier systems.

The U.S. Navy Reserve was formed in 1915 in response to World War I. During the war, nearly 84 percent of the Navy's force was made up of Reserve members.
There are roughly 100,000 members of the U.S. Navy Reserve today. They have been deployed more than 4,500 times since September 11, 2001 to support the U.S. Navy's mission.

Military service members routinely complete training to maintain their skills in a variety of fields, including STEM-based specialties like explosive ordnance disposal.
Military and Federal Construction Company Inc, a Jacksonville, North Carolina company, was awarded a $13,252,348 firm-fixed-price task order. The project includes renovations of a barracks building on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.

The Women Milvets Summit is scheduled for March 7, 2023, in Raleigh. Attendees will have access to information about Veterans Affairs benefits, employment, and more. Women active duty, National Guard, and Reserve veterans are invited to register.
North Carolina Central University's (NCCU) School of Law received a $100,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to finance the new Private Booker T. Spicely Endowed Scholarship Fund.
The scholarship will be available for current and new law students who are involved with the NCCU Veterans Law Clinic. The law clinic seeks to aid current military members and veterans by supporting their legal and civil rights.
